Tonight: The Joy Formidable

Tonight The Joy Formidable takes the stage at Buffalo’s Rec Room to rock your faces clean off as they wrap up their North American tour. This North Wales trio means business with their wonderfully deafening and melodic indie rock records. Badass lead singer and guitarist Ritzy Bryan leads the charge with beautiful, ethereal vocals and emotionally charged and dictated riffs. Supporting Bryan and adding their own textures to the captivating soundscape are buzzing bassist Rhydian Dafydd and calamitous drummer Justin Stahley. Expect a live wire set that includes tracks off their latest album AAARTH. Opening the night are special guests and hometown rock ‘n’ rollers, The Eaves. This is one of the very last shows to see The Joy Formidable in the US so see them while you can. Doors at 7pm. Tickets are $30; get them here. 16+ with an ID, under 16 with an adult.

Edgefest 2016 (07/31/16)

Local radio station 103.3 the Edge came back this year with another stacked lineup for their annual one day festival, Edgefest.  This year, the fest took place in Canalside opposed to the outer harbor, which I’m sure was a welcome change to many. With rain in the forecast, the crowd still showed  up in huge numbers, and lucky for them, there wasn’t a drop of rain in sight all day.  With blistering sets from Detones, Joywave, Tokyo Police Club, and more, this is sure to stand up as one of Edgefest’s best showings to date.   Check out some photos from the show below, and click HERE for a full gallery The Joy Formidable Tokyo Police Club Joywave Sam Roberts Band City and Colour Deftones
