Sea Lemon – “Stay”

“Stay” is the latest track from Natalie Lew, the brains behind Sea Lemon. Coming in like a promise of a pleasantly lazy weekend, Lew’s vocals combined with the gentle guitar/bass/drums feel idyllic and warm. Speaking as to how she wrote the song:   “This older guy, probably in his 70s or 80s, was acting as a security guard at this thrift store near my house…I couldn’t stop thinking about him after I left, and wrote ‘Stay’ as a reaction to seeing this guy who I felt deserved to take a break…”   You can hear “Stay” below from Sea Lemon’s Bandcamp. Fans of physical media can pre-order a slice of vinyl with the upcoming album “Diving For A Prize” due out June 13. You can pre-save the album on Spotify as well.   Diving For A Prize by Sea Lemon

Sea Lemon – “Vaporized”

Seattle’s Natalie Lew, under her moniker Sea Lemon, is excited for her upcoming EP release titled Stop at Nothing, due out August 25th of this year. This will be following her debut album that germinated during pandemic isolation and found life in the 2022 release Close Up. The upcoming EP has Lew pushing to define her artistic voice after a promising freshman album where the young artist was trying on various sounds while finding that unique one that fits best. “Vaporized”, the latest single to come from that project, is an upbeat, shoegazey indie cut that is a perfect example of that sound. The new song is stuffed full of melancholic beauty, with twinkling guitar lines that tumble and cascade onto each other like ocean waves. Warm layers of expansive bass create a plush underpinning for Lew’s lyrics to sit upon, all of which are kept buoyant with a steady rock[...]

Sea Lemon – “Cellar”

Seattle musician Natalie Lew, known as Sea Lemon, has just released the introspective, lush, shoegaze single “Cellar.” Lew lays ethereal vocals over each other that sound like howling winds pushing through caverns of your psyche. The rhythm section brings it with tumbling drums and bass, creating a pulse that balances the ghostly singing while pushing you into a perpetual free fall feeling. Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Natalie’s sonics evoke her home’s palette with a feeling of blue-green pine forests outside of rain streaked windows while you stare out, unfurling the tapestry of your inner mental machinations. Here is Natalie talking about that and how the song came into being: “‘Cellar’ was inspired by my love of really classic horror and thriller films, like Blow Out and Misery, and how loving scary movies can sometimes feel like something is wrong with you. That idea of the ‘cellar’ in the song[...]
