Phantom Handshakes – “Wisdom”

Do you sort of want to feel like you’re adrift underwater in some perpetually floaty stasis? If so, Phantom Handshakes has you covered – their latest offering, “Wisdom,” is an aquatic trip delivered with a shoegaze-y/bedroom-pop feel. Far-off vocals lay atop hazy instrumentals that feel and listen like a dreamscape. The meaning behind the song is equally profound – see below:   “‘Wisdom’ is a sort of pagan prayer to a pagan god… It is an appeal to a supernatural force to descend upon the earth in the form of dust and seep into our skin, making humanity less petty and cruel, and more wise and generous. A plea for a miracle.”   Far out, man.   “Wisdom” can be found via bandcamp, embedded below for your convenience, or, on Spotify.   Standing By by Phantom Handshakes

Phantom Handshakes – “No Better Plan”

Phantom Handshakes is a Brooklyn-based collab between Matt Sklar (Exiles) and Federica Tassano (Sooner, Mônetre). Their latest offering, Be Estranged, houses seven lo-fi, bedroom-pop with lots of dreamy pop sentiment. We’re particularly drawn to the swimmy, post-punk flavor of “No Better Plan.” With it’s plunky, watery guitar lines and earworm na-na-nas, “Plan” will scratch your itch for indie clout AND infectious melodies. Check it out below, they’re on Spotify too. Phantom Handshakes · No Better Plan
