Daughters of Noise! – “Sunshine”

Digging this vampy jam from Daughters of Noise! Despite the sharp-toothed trio that appears in the video – DON is just two women, Coco Morier and Arama. They put together this infectious club banger, with a half-rapped, half-sung chorus that is fire to say the least… Plus, the kitschy, immortal-cheerleaders-in-the-daylight music video somehow ties it all together perfectly. We think you’re gonna like this one – check the video out below and see/listen for yourself before you inevitably add it to your Spotify playlist.

thisisNAMASTE – “Something”

thisisNAMASTE has a big, sassy pop song on her hands with the brand new “Something.” This one is pure pop at its finest – full of fun synth textures, big boomy drums, and a big catchy chorus. Through and through, this is a showcase of NAMASTE’s unique vocal stylings. This one goes out to anyone who needs a kiss-off toward their recent ex – check it out below. thisisNAMASTE · Something

Liam Naughton & The Educators – “Infidelity”

Here’s a cool raucous one from London-based act Liam Naughton & The Educators. “Infidelity” is full of gritty guitar, lyrical malaise, and has the perfect bedroomy mix. Falling somewhere on the spectrum between The Hold Steady, Blur, and Parquet Courts, “Infidelity” is full of start-stop guitar theatrics and Naughton’s unique and driven vocal timbre. We think you’re gonna like it – check it out below, or swing by Liam’s Spotify if you’re digging it. Liam Naughton · Infidelity

Chrissme – “Choco Pie”

Loving this new one all the way from Russia – Chrissme came out swinging with “Choco Pie” is a groovy jam built around a moody guitar riff that quickly turns into a slick pop jam… Think Wicca Phase Springs Eternal meets Phantogram. Fleshed out with catchy keyboard riffs and Chrissme’s sublty-mumbled vocals, we have a feeling “Choco Pie” is gonna make its way onto your playlist. Check it out via the Soundcloud widget below – here’s a link to Spotify too if that’s more your speed. Chrissme · Choco Pie

Lawn – “Jane Ryan”

Cool jangle pop jam here from New Orleans duo Lawn. “Jane Ryan” is built on bursts of fuzzed-out guitar blasts and a constant, driven bass line… Most importantly though, this one is infectious and fun, falling somewhere on the spectrum between the guitar pop of The Cars (sans keyboard) and the unique noisiness of Pile. We especially love the guitar string tweaks that are peppered in; they add a pleasantly cacophonous twang to the song. Keep an eye out for Lawn‘s upcoming LP, Johnny, due out in September. Till then, enjoy the dulcet tones of “Jane Ryan” via the widget below. Lawn New Orleans · Jane Ryan

Buckets – “Looking”

Liking this fresh start from brand new LA-based quartet Buckets. Looking starts off unassuming but bursts into a blast of indie-punk emotion, full of gang vocals and whammy-bar guitar theatrics. There’s a bit of passionate emo emotional-sentiment here too, but this one also breathes with the quiet/loud aesthetic of Pixies as well. Give ’em some love on Spotify – the Bandcamp link is also below. Looking by Buckets

Killah Cortez – “Imaginary Lines”

Here’s a nice indietronica jam from singer/songwriter Killah Cortez. Built on a skeleton of gentle acoustic guitar and Cortez’s pleasant vocals, this one should appeal to fans of Radical Face/Electric President, or even newer Bon Iver. “Lines” really starts to shine about halfway through the song when the glitchy electronic elements start to squiggle out of the aether and through your speakers… Check it out below for yourself and be sure to swing by Killah‘s Spotify if you’re digging it. Basic White – “Brigade”

Liking this rocker from Ontario trio Basic White – “Brigade” is a tasteful blend of classic rock hooks and modern indie rock sensibilities. Singer Riley White (see what they did there?) is an eclectic vocalist, pushing his bluesy grit to yelps, but only when it makes perfect sense. Beyond that – the video for “Brigade” was shot in a mansion and features some murderous metaphors. Pretty cool stuff – check it out below.

Aaron Zachary – “Bullfight!”

Loving this latest jam from Aaron Zachary called “Bullfight!” This one feels simultaneously fuzzed-out and jangly, propelled by a deeply groovy drum beat, but also obviously driven by Aaron’s unique vocal timbre. This one is certainly 90s tinged with just enough eclectic 2020 flavor to keep it feeling fresh and interesting. Fans of Built to Spill or Archers of Loaf will love this for sure. “Bullfight!” appears on a two-song EP couresty of No Mayo records. You can follow the widget below to check out the EP on Bandcamp, or check out the YouTube vid if that’s more your speed. Bullfight! / Scissortails by Aaron Zachary

Spice Jar – “Nothing”

Digging this cool one from Columbus based duo Spice Jar. “Nothing” is built around spicy guitar tones that manage to blend elements of indie rock, garage rock, and emo into one, perfect hybrid. Beyond the dope instrumentals, there are some sincerely catchy vocal melodies here, and a big, unavoidable snare that shines through. Check this one out below, and if you dig it, add it to your Spotify playlist. Spice Jar · Nothing

ellie d. – “Bedtime”

LA-based ellie d. just put out a late-summer jam that has us feeling nostalgic in all the right ways. “Bedtime” starts off unassuming enough – a smooth electropop jam that shows off ellie’s penchant for introspective lyrics. It soon evolves into a nu-disco tinged chorus with a flashy bass line and flourishes of sparkly synths. This one goes out to all the anxious kids out there – check it out below and visit ellie’s Spotify if you dig it. ellie d. · Bedtime

Comfort Kiss – “Silence”

Austria’s Comfort Kiss is the solo moniker for guitarist Martin Wührer, perhaps initially known from the band Like Elephants. We’re digging his latest output, “Silence,” the title track from his debut EP. This one is a dreamy, shoegazy jam with a decidedly bedroom DIY vibe. Full of chimey synths, swirly jangle guitars, and mysterious far-off vocals, this one would fit comfortably on the shelf next to any Slowdive or Pains of Being Pure At Heart album. Check out the video below and swing by Bandcamp to pick up the whole EP.

Jack Binkerd – “Magnolia”

Jack Binkerd is an Alabaman-turned-Nashvillian making alt-country tinged indie rock with a cool, mathy flair. It’s a lot to take in on paper, but we think listening to the start-stop angularity of “Magnolia” will speak for itself. In “Magnolia,” Binkerd combines unique guitar riffing (reminiscent of Minus the Bear) with the sincere emotion that you might hear out of a Pinegrove song. The result is something genre-bending and unique, driven especially by Binkerd’s heartfelt drawl. Check it out below, and if you dig it, be sure to check out his offerings via Spotify.

Nicolas Michaux – “Parrot”

Can’t get enough of “Parrot,” the latest jam from Belgian singer/songwriter Nicolas Michaux. With a sound that brings to mind early !!! or Metronomy, “Parrot” is a super tight indie rocker with hints of nu-disco flavor. This one sounds warm and just a little bit vintage, which adds to the super-charming mix. Check out the lyrical visualizer vid below or swing by Michaux’s Bandcamp to snag a DL.

Medusa Releases Menacing New Single, “Woof”

Here’s another darktronica banger from prolific Buffalo-based producer Medusa. “Woof” is a grungy, genre-bending slog that beautifully aligns with their m.o.: [Medusa has] pledged their life to composing anthems of the scorned. Like the infamous gorgon, Medusa is all about avenging wrongs and turning you to stone – but, like, in a fun way. It’s revenge pop. “Woof” absolutely feels like a revenge jam – especially the recurring refrain of “I’m that b*tch.” Noisy, angry, and menacing, this one is sure to pump some adrenaline into your veins. Check it out below and be sure to add it to your Spotify if you dig it. WOOF by MEDUSA
