Blonde Maze – “Antarctica”

Blonde Maze‘s signature vocal sampling and glittery electronica caught our ears today – we recommend you check out her latest, “Antarctica.” The song pairs icy synths with glassy marimbas, creating an almost wintery ambiance. Fans of Ellie Goulding, Little Boots, or Imogen Heap would dig this track. Find out more about Blonde Maze here. Your Dog – “Saurkraut”

I don’t know about the rest of you, but there are definitely days where I lament the passage from childhood to adulthood and wind up feeling like a lump of saurkraut. Your Dog hits that feeling dead on, combining bumbling acoustic guitar riffs that channel eternal awkwardness with blasts of necessary distorted angst. This one’s a real banger folks, give it a listen for sure. Go to Bandcamp and purchase “Saurkraut” immediately. Moth Wings – “I Used To Hate Myself”

Texan lo-fi solo act Moth Wings has just released an anti-video for the song “I Used To Hate Myself.” The fast-paced, 90s-tinged video is lo-fi on purpose; Moth Wings himself says, “The first time I saw a music video I thought it was distracting and overbearing… That’s why it’s as ridiculous and lo fi of a video as it is. Anything more would have just been hollow.” As always, we can get behind that refreshing sincerity. It is time to peep Moth Wings on iTunes.

NGHTCRWLRS – “Coffee and Weed”

“COFFEE AND WEED/I FEEL WEAK!” What a fantastic mantra to live by… Noisy Brooklyn indie-rockers NGHTCRWLRS have immortalized the twenty-something diet/mindset in their latest offering, “Coffee and Weed.” These dudes compile noisy fuzz guitars and shout-it-out vocals into a surprisingly succint (and catchy) 1:05. NGHTCRWLRS latest is out now via Sniffling Indie Kids. Yuksek – “Sunrise”

How many foodies do we have in our buffaBLOG audience? Well, this one’s for you – Yuksek‘s newest jam, “Sunrise” comes accompanied by a music video that finds a happy couple snacking their day away. Beyond that delightful imagery, the producer/songwriter Yuksek has crafted a synth-laced indie pop jam that anyone could enjoy. Make sure you stick around for the surprise ending, it’s a knee-slapper. If you’re feeling “Sunrise,” find out how to purchase it here.

New Carnival – “How Dare You”

Bristol quartet New Carnival are here with “How Dare You.” If you’re looking for a raucous new jam with a tangible UK flavor, look no further. New Carnival specialize in clean and punchy rock jams with an iota of 80s sentiment. Recommended to fans of Bloc Party, The Smiths, or Kaiser Chiefs. iTunes link – you know what to do. Promises Ltd. – “American Eyes (Gilligan Moss Remix)”

Promises Ltd. is the creative union of Jeremy Malvin from Chrome Sparks and Charlie Brand from Miniature Tigers. Their side-project specializes in whirly electronica tunes. This time around, Gilligan Moss offered his hand at a remix and we’ve been jiving on it all day. Fans of Holy Ghost or Cut Copy will dig this one. If you like what you hear, check out what Promises Ltd. has to offer here. isle&fever – “Haunted World”

Are you frightened by our modern political climate? LA indie-pop duo isle&fever are too; said climate has inspired their latest jam, “Haunted World.” Beyond the poignant commentary on the state of the union, isle&fever utilize jangling indie sentiment with subtle flares of electronica. Squiggly synths and other blips and bloops pepper this peppy track. The duo is offering up “Haunted World” for free here. BF/C – “Upstate”

If you’ve been hankering for some quality Swedish electronica with heavy 80s influences, look no further than BF/C. BF/C is actually two separate artists, Barish Firatli and Californiaman!. Their collaborative song “Upstate” is an upbeat jam that sounds like a mix between 1980s synthpop (Thomas Dolby, Men Without Hats, etc.) and contemporary indie/synth rockers like Foster The People or Phoenix. Give “Upstate” a listen below. Ruby Cube – “Blood In Love”

Ruby Cube is a young quintet who impressed us with their latest release, “Blood In Love.” Their influences range from Joy Division to Two Door Cinema Club to Metronomy, but “Blood In Love” showcases a sound all their own. Disco beats, blippy percussion, and quasi-80s vibes propel their sound forth. “Blood In Love” is available via iTunes. Gypsum – “Disappear”

Gypsum is a post-rock band based out of Los Angeles – we recommend their latest single for your listening pleasure. “Disappear” is the band’s second single; about “Disappear,” the band says: “[The song is] a cosmically ill-fated love story in a lush sonic landscape of psychedelic guitar work layered over rooted, groovy bass guitar & drums.” Couldn’t have said it better ourselves! Recommended to lovers of Explosions in the Sky, Warpaint, or HAIM. Learn more about Gypsum via their website. VedeTT – “Temple”

French surf-poppers VedeTT hit us up with the delightful “Temple” and we think it’s worth a listen. The Angers (France) act is quasi-mysterious, but that didn’t stop us from hunting down some info. We dig “Temple” for it’s good vibes, refreshing simplicity, and ambient vocal delivery. Recommended to fans of Beach House, Surfer Blood, or DIIV. Get familiar with VedeTT’s poetry in the lyric video for “Temple” below.

Dead Horse Beats – “Dive”

We stumbled upon the video for Dead Horse Beats‘ new track, “Dive” and we think it’s worth a watch. The video was created over a two year period; the visuals to the track tell a somber tale of heartbreak. A vintage camera shot paints a picture of a relationship past – then the video takes a turn into the HD present. Not to mention, the trio has a contemporary sound that sits somewhere in between the dance stylings of Cashmere Cat, with a folky tinge a la Bon Iver. Who says music videos are dead? Not Dead Horse Beats – check out “Dive” Below.

Shy Luv – “Joyrider”

If you’re a fan of disco meets funk-punk meets electronic, we recommend listening to UK duo Shy Luv. They are a perfect musical mix-up of a plethora of influences – from Talking Heads to Hot Chip and anywhere in between –  while still feeling distinctly 2016/17. “Joyrider” is where you should start… It combines clacking percussion with funky bass lines and breathy vocals. If you dig it, stream “Joyrider” on Spotify. Jake Cook – “The Raging Twenties”

Don’t be fooled by Jake Cook‘s shouts – his latest project is actually a poignant analysis of what it means to be a struggling 20 something. In 1:58, “The Raging Twenties” makes use of barely-tuned guitars, a Casio keyboard beat, and disgusting fuzz tones in a sardonic, face-melting look on the adult blues. Fans of Atom & His Package, Prince Daddy & The Hyena, or Touche Amore would find Jake irresistible. Give Jake a visit on his Tumblr.
