Mallrat – “Your Love”

We’re Mallrat fans here at buffaBLOG – ICYMI, we’ve featured “Uninvited” and “UFO” previously. The Brisband-based singer/songwriter is back with another dreamy lo-fi pop banger called “Your Love.” Propelled by a trap beat; gauzy synth swells; and Mallrat’s (aka Grace Shaw) lovely vocal presence, “Your Love” works its way into a repetitive chorus that is simple and brutally catchy. It’s accompanied by a fittingly grainy music video, finding Grace wandering around the city lights while pantomiming her song. The eclectic Aussie pop star, Mallrat, blasts off with the visuals for her hauntingly atmospheric track, “UFO.” From her sophomore EP, In The Sky, this entrancing track features Mallrat’s gorgeous, confessional vocals over an ominously spacey and addictive beat. Australian electropop songstress Mallrat creates a buzz with the release of her video for “Uninvited.” Under her pseudonym, Grace Shaw shakes up youth’s banalities with surging beats, sharp percussion, and listlessly hypnotic vocals. This track redefines teenage party culture, where ‘toothless smiles’ mask a craving for solitude and simplicity. The video runs along a similar track, urging you to look beyond the mundane and give into the groove. “Uninvited” is off Mallrat’s debut EP under the same name, chuck full of vibey dance tracks like this one.
