Jet City Sports Club – “Drug Store (Waste My Time)”

Sydney’s Jet City Sports Club are back with a brand new indie pop jam called “Drug Store (Waste My Time).” In case you missed our previous features on JCSC (see here and here), “Drug” finds the band continuing to hone their brand of glassy, beach inspired indie pop a la Alvvays or Beach Bunny. Sweet vocal melodies and a driving bass are highlights here, anchored by both crunchy and chorus-laden guitars. About the song, the band explains: “When I started writing this song, It was about always wanting more from a significant other, but it evolved into a sort of longing and desperation to be seen by someone you don’t even really know. Someone who might not even know you exist yet.” Check it out via Soundcloud (below) or Spotify. Jet City Sports Club · Drug Store (Waste My Time)

Jet City Sports Club – “Green Thumb”

Last time we checked in with Sydney’s Jet City Sports Club, we were waxing poetic about the sparkly beach-pop of their single, “She Don’t Need No One.” They’re back with another shimmering indie-pop gem, this time called “Green Thumb.” If you liked “No One,” you’re sure to like “Green Thumb,” as JCSC is savvy enough to know what works well for them – sun-soaked guitar leads, fun energy, and a lilting vocal presence that’s as pristine as it is pleasant on the ears. You can find “Green Thumb” on Spotify and Apple Music.

Jet City Sports Club – “She Don’t Need No One”

Buzzing, Sydney-based quartet Jet City Sports Club caught our ears with the sparkly indie rock of their latest single, “She Don’t Need No One.” They pair jangly, chorus-laden guitars with breezy vocals and a sunshine-y, summery mood – the perfect antidote for our currently frigid winter blight. This one feels tailor-made for a day at the beach and would sync perfectly next to fellow nautical-esque indie rockers Alvvays; a spindly indie jam from TOPS, or the mysteriousness of Crumb.
