Jacqueline Tucci – “Burning Out”

The time honored tradition of the burn out has never sounded very nice, but Jacqueline Tucci has changed that with their latest tune “Burning Out.” A stripped down intro gives way to garage-influenced pop punk distortion and continues to oscillate between the two feelings. Tucci commiserates with us, the listener, and plays around with the dual meaning of burning:   I know I’m not the only one who feels like I’m running towards the sun I feel myself burning up, I’ll be burning out in no time Oh, but there must be another way I used to sit in the sun all day I think I used to like the heat I think there’s still some time for me after all   There’s a sliver of hope too, “I think there’s still some time for me after all,” and while it easily could have been some gallows humor, I chose to[...]

Jacqueline Tucci – “Home”

Canadian singer/songwriter Jacqueline Tucci is back with a jangly new single, “Home.” Whereas here last single, “Fear” caught our ears with its bouncy bass bass riff, “Home” feels a bit more somber by nature. Tucci’s voice is just-aloof enough to embody some song-appropriate slacker-rock vibes, but overall, this is a great and emotional indie rock jam that would appeal equally to fans of Alvvays, Mom Jeans, or Jay Som. We’ve got her Soundcloud posted below, but there’s always Bandcamp too! Jacqueline Tucci · Home

Jacqueline Tucci – “Fear”

Jacqueline Tucci is a Canadian rocker whose “Fear” really caught our ears. This one is carried predominantly by a bouncy bass riff, but is filled out with lots of lovely jangle guitar and guitar-noise atmospherics. Tucci herself is a presence to be reckoned with – hints of anger occasionally peek through her otherwise even-keeled (but excellent) vocal delivery. This one is perfect for fans of Courtney Barnett, Bully, or just good-old-fashioned indie rock energy. Check it out below and swing by the Bandcamp if you truly want to support.
