Jack Moody x Modern Aerobics – “TELEPHONIC”

Here’s another banger from Jack Moody (as Modern Aerobics). “TELEPHONIC” speaks for itself – with its neurotic Casio-keyboard beat and urgent guitar strumming, it brings to mind gothy 80s post-punk acts while still keeping a 2022 bedroom-pop aesthetic. It even has an urgent, almost somber tone to it, perfect for these moody (pun intended) October evenings. About the song, Jack explains: “This is a beat driven anthem about how relationships are controlled by social media, technology, and telephones. I wanted the song to be intense, melodic, and drowned out with delayed vocals” ICYMI, we’ve also featured a few of Jack’s songs before – be sure to check out “Touch You” and “Sorority Girl” as well.| You can find “TELEPHONIC” on Spotify. Jack Moody – “Sorority Girl”

Last time we checked in with Virginia Beach native Jack Moody, we were all about the slacker vibes of his previous single, “Touch You.” While there were certainly some dark and angular vibes before, Moody has presented a new song and it’s, well, a bit moodier. Puns aside, “Sorority Girl” is packed full of energy – it pairs a blistering tempo with arpeggiating guitar riffs, washy background noise, and his signature aloof croon. It’s tense, and urgent, and even a little catchy – check out the official music video below. You can find “Sorority Girl” on Apple Music and Spotify too.

Jack Moody – “Touch You”

Virginia Beach native Gary Watson sometimes goes by Jack Moody… And when he does, he writes unique lo-fi rock compositions with elements of jazz, fuzz, and bedroom-pop. We were drawn to “Touch You” for it’s left-field instrumentation, aloof vocal delivery, and genuine slacker vibes. Fans of Mac Demarco to Ceremony to Salvia Plath will find something to like here. You can preview “Touch You” on YouTube below – if you like it, it’s also available on Spotify now.
