Freedom Fry – “Be Your Man”

Our friends in Freedom Fry are no strangers to buffaBLOG – we’ve previously featured the LA duo’s work in articles about “Party Down” and “Smile” respectively. They’re back with more of the excellent, nu-disco tinged synthpop we’ve come to love, this time in the form of a song called “Be Your Man.” Lyrically, “Man” is a tune about embracing the good feelings you get from having a crush on someone – expect nimble, funky basslines; lots of feel-good energy; and an inexplicable urge to get out of your bed/chair and start dancing wildly. If you enjoy “Be Your Man,” check it out on Spotify too along with the rest of their excellent discography. freedomfry · Freedom Fry – Be Your Man

Freedom Fry – “Smile”

Freedom Fry are no strangers to buffaBLOG – we’ve previously featured their singles “Strange Attraction;” “Party Down;” and “Brave.” They’re at it again – another nu-disco-tinged synthpop jam called “Smile.” There’s no denying that bouncing bassline… but beyond that, the uplifting lyrics and ultra dance-able vibes here are irresistible. “Smile” is available on Spotify – be sure to add it to your favorite playlist. freedomfry · Freedom Fry – Smile

Freedom Fry – “Party Down”

Los Angeles’ own Freedom Fry are keeping the ball rolling with another track off their recently released EP, “Party Down.” Taking cues from the indie pop greats like Passion Pit and Grouplove, the duo set the vibe with bright rhythm guitar, glowing synth lines, and energizing vocals. It’s a surrounding experience, touching all bases with expert track layering and engaging interplay among both vocalists. “Party Down” is the kind of track that’s hard to get enough of, and luckily there’s more where this came from with Strange Attraction, out now and available everywhere.

Freedom Fry – “Strange Attraction”

LA’s Freedom Fry is back with their latest single “Strange Attraction,” brought to us at the forefront of their upcoming EP. The alt-folk duo is known for their catchy hooks and danceable beats, and this track is no exception. Their mix of astral guitars, heady falsetto, and a propelling bass line is bright and refreshing, sending a surge of luminosity straight through the air waves. Channeling the groove-ridden inspiration of the Bee Gees, Freedom Fry celebrate love in its most liberating form, and the result is down right infectious. Catch the release of their upcoming EP Strange Attraction on September 7th for more feel-good jams like this one. Freedom Fry – “Brave (Freedom Fry Remix)”

Indie pop duo Freedom Fry stir things up with a remix of their track “Brave.” While the original is a breezy acoustic-folk ballad, the remix brings the song to life with vibrant electric guitar, grooving percussion, and heavy dose of reverb. Even with the addition of electronic elements, the track keeps its melodic integrity, as if this arrangement was the original. The remix comes to us from a Freedom Fry EP full of remixes by Sofi Tukker, Penguin Prison, and other notable names. As their first stab at remixing their own track, “Brave” knocks it out of the park. Find more from Remixes here, and expect a debut album from Freedom Fry early next year.
