Drens – “M vs. D”

Drens are no strangers to buffaBLOG – we previously loved the raucous surf-punk of their previous single “Heat” and the pistolero-punk of previous-previous single, “Yellow Teeth.” Lo and behold, the Dortmund-based act has struck again, this time with new single “M vs. D.” This German quartet would feel right at home on the US West Coast with bands like Wavves or even Cloud Nothings – full of jaunty surf riffage and just-the-right-amount of snottiness in their vocals, “M vs. D” will chase away your winter blues with its fiery, heartwarming energy. Drens – “Heat”

Sometimes, there’s nothing better than some raucous German surf-punk. Drens certainly nail the sound, especially on their latest offering, “Heat.” Fans of Together Pangaea, Wavves, or Cloud Nothings will like their fast tempos, bratty vocals, and overall sunny disposition. They wrap things up nice and succinct with a cool, slow-down finish. Check it out below and then add it to your Spotify playlist.

Drens – “Yellow Teeth”

German surf-punkers Drens are here with a TBT to the early 19th century. “Yellow Teeth” is full of pistolero riffs and plinky, surf guitar rock, and tells the story of torture, fortune, fortitude, and being a lone-wolf desperado in the middle of your nowhere town. Beyond that, we dig their modern take on the dusty old west via their infinite surf-punk energy and peppy aesthetic. Listen for yourself below. Drens is EVERYWHERE.
