NY-based The Vigilance Committee recently caught our ears with the midwest-emo tinge of “Oakfield.” Combining heartfelt vocals, guitar-driven instrumentals, and lots of other eclectic flavor, this one has all the appeal of a midwest emo tune with a bit more focus on melody and pop rock vibes. You might even catch a harp solo if you’re paying enough attention. It’s all set off by a nostalgic music video set in a sleepy neighborhood where these kinds of bands tend to flourish.
