Tonight: Miniature Tigers

Buffalo’s busy Monday night will be highlighted this evening with a visit from Brooklyn’s Miniature Tigers at the Waiting Room. The buzzing and bouncing synth-pop quartet is still riding high after the release of their summer ready album Cruel Runnings earlier last month. We recently had the opportunity to sit down with MT’s lead singer, Charlie Brand, to discuss the album, touring, and city specific music scenes. If you missed the interview, check it out here. Joining Miniature Tigers tonight will be Aussie buzz band the Grisworlds. Miniature Tigers

The guys of Miniature Tigers just can’t sit still. Originally from Phoenix, Charlie Brand, the lead singer of the indie-pop outfit, has called home to a number of places- including Los Angeles, Brooklyn, and Austin. Safe to say that the band’s musical style changes roughly as much as their home base, and that’s not a bad thing. Their latest album, Cruel Runnings – a confident summer record stuffed with solid synthpop songs that WILL get stuck in your head— paints an entirely different picture than that of their 2008 debut Tell It To The Volcano, but no matter how drastic the stylistic departure may be from album to album, Miniature Tigers always seem to wind up with songs worth grooving to. buffaBLOG was able to get a few questions in just before the band left for an extensive full US tour with The Griswolds. Just Announced: Miniature Tigers

Buzzing Brooklyn four-piece, Miniature Tigers, will be making a stop at the Waiting Room on Monday, July 14th. Touring in support of forthcoming new album Cruel Runnings, the bouncy synth-pop quartet, who has most recently taken a turn towards a soaring Smith Westerns vibe, will be bringing fellow buzz act, the Griswolds (think Two Door Cinema Club), along for the ride.
