Tonight: Iron Chic

Kick off your weekend tonight with a rowdy punk rock show hosted by Buffalo’s freshest venue, the Rec Room. Headlining and continuing their fall tour are the fantastically kinetic and spirited Long Island five-piece, Iron Chic. These guys will slap you in their clutches with dynamic punk records that are so musically robust and melodic it will blow your mind. Expect hopscotch drumbeats driving brash, high-powered riffs tied together by lose-your-voice, sing-a-long rebel yells. If that doesn’t sound good to you, check your pulse. Iron Chic are an indie/pop-punk band from Long Island and tonight they will be bringing the house down at the Studio at Waiting Room. Iron Chic are known for their anthem like quality full of pounding rhythm and fast paced, slicing guitars. Playing alongside Iron Chic on this stacked bill are Unwelcome Guests and Del Paxton, with their recently released LP,  All Day, Every Day, All Night. Tunes start at 7pm. $15 at the door. Iron Chic is a band with an amusing tongue in cheek modesty, describing themselves as a “decent” band that plays “acceptable” music. They also go by the self deprecating title of, Your Previous Least Favorite Band, giving the impression that they’re not even important enough to be your current least favorite band, with the majority of their albums collecting dust in the 50 cent bin of forgotten thrift stores and the corners of basements across the country. Except of course, that totally isn’t the case. Iron Chic tackles cartwheeling Long Island pop punk that should turn audiences into a motion blur, and their music couldn’t be more alive.
