]]> This week has been sensory overload for all local indie music fans with a four day stretch of highly anticipated shows starting Wednesday with Jenny Lewis and staying strong through tongiht’s Broken Social Scene set headlining Cobblestone Live. The afterparty tonight features Brendan Canning, founding member of BSS, playing an eclectic DJ set tonight at Mohawk Place with deep indie rock cuts and reggae sprinkled. Opening the night is DJ Tight Mike Moretti with an upbeat indie dance set. If you’re coming in cold it’s a $13 cover with a hard start at 11pm. If you have a Cobblestsone Live ticket, $10.

]]> After four years of throwing parties in various Buffalo venues, we were itching to branch out a bit and get out of town. So with the help of Rochester promoter/talent buyer/musician, Tim Avery, we are happy to announce our first show in the 585 at the Bug Jar this November. If you haven’t been to the venue, its kind of like Rochester’s Mohawk Place, hosting shows of some of the city’s best acts like Joywave, the Demos, and Kopps, while bringing in some fantastic touring bands.

For our Rochester showcase, we reached out to some of our favorite Roch acts to help us out. Bug Jar regulars Harmonica Lewinski, Buffalo Sex Change, and the Absolutes (making their triumphant return) will cover the local talent for the evening. In addition, we couldn’t do a show without having Buffalo represented, so we are bringing our friends from Mallwalkers with to round out the night. Finally, for those fans of our weekly podcast series, DJ Tight Mike will be on hand to keep the music going in between sets.

Everything goes down on Saturday, November 22nd, starting at 8pm. Cover is $7. We hope you can join us. In the mean time, brush up on all of the great talent below.
