Elmwood Avenue’s best weirdo bar has night of infectious indie rock and jangle-pop as Buffalo’s own Prairie Pavement * headlines a local bill with some up-and-coming acts. Known for their commanding and energetic live performances, Prairie Pavement features multiple talented songwriters who each take turns on leading their songs, creating a diverse and dynamic sound. If you’re a fan of Surf Curse, Dr. Dog, or Car Seat Headrest, then you’ll dig this one.

Prairie Pavement * will be joined by SUNY Fredonia alt-rock newcomers New Venice and raw indie rock act Power Creep *. Doors are $10.

Triple Hammer Records Showcase @ Mohawk Place

Saturday Night is set to feature a showcase from Buffalo hardcore punk label, Triple Hammer Records, with their holiday expo: Scrooge’s Big Day Out. This all-day event will feature local eclectic vendors setting up shop at 2pm, with sets from a wide range of local musicians featuring some of the best punk, hardcore, and rap artists in the area. The evening is full to the brim with local talents, featuring performances by Do Crime, Neftali, Overgrowth, Piss Guzzler, Robbery Club, Super Flea, and New Fury. There will be DJ sets from DJ Knew’d and Spooky Stephen to keep the party bumping on transitions. Pre-sale tickets are $18.78.

The Bug Club @ Mohawk Place

Get ready for a night of high-energy, riff-heavy indie rock as the Welsh power trio The Bug Club takes the stage Sunday night in celebration of another Bills win. Known for their punchy guitars, clever lyrics, and infectious garage rock sound, The Bug Club is a band that delivers a spirited and engaging live performance. Signed to the iconic Sub Pop label, the band blends ’70s-inspired rock with a contemporary, lo-fi punk edge. Fans of Modern Lovers, Moldy Peaches or Guided by Voices should plan on this one. Adelaide @ Milkies

Adelaide has been playing the Buffalo scene for the past few years as mostly a solo artist, however, this Thursday will be a special one as the project expands into a full band. With backing musicians, expect Adelaide’s powerful vocals to be complimented by a lusher sound. Fans of Diet Cig, The Beths, or Snail Mail would be into the expansion of the Adelaide team.

Also on the bill is introspective singer/songwriter Ian McCuen who will be playing in support of their latest album As the Oceans Rise and the Empire Falls, which came out at the tail end of November. Orange Dog Club, the original act announced on the lineup, had to sit this one out. Taking their place will be mystic solo outfit Amanda Bridges. $10 gets you VIP seating.

Looms @ Hot Mama’s Canteen

Things seem to be heating up over at Hot Mama’s Canteen with the recent partnership with local music promotion company Gulf of Mexico Productions. With the scene seemingly hemorrhaging viable small venues to play, it’s a great to see Hot Mama’s Canteen opening their doors with more opportunities for music and art.

Brooklyn’s Looms will be passing through Black Rock with a solo stripped-down gig. Looms has been a regular on the New York City scene fore the past decade, gaining cred for their brand of accessible indie folk. Fans of Wilco, My Morning Jacket, or Courtney Barnett would dig this one.

Sharing the bill is pop-punk sole proprietor akloh., the very promising Prairie Pavement, and new SUNY kids on the block, Stratosphere. 9pm doors with a $13 cover.

STRANGELOVE – The Depeche Mode Experience @ Riviera Theatre

Let’s face it. It’ll take close to a miracle to get a Depeche Mode concert in Western New York, let alone North Tonawanda. Once we’ve come to terms with that, boy do I have good news for you – Los Angeles’ STRANGELOVE – the Depeche Mode Experience is set to showcase the legendary electro-pop’s repertoire spanning close to 40 years. STRANGELOVE is the real deal, with a multimedia production that rivals the Essex synth-pop royals.

FINICK is the performing name for 17-year-old singer/songwriter Josie Hasnik. Based out of Minneapolis, the young songstress has been playing live since 2023 with major support from Minnesota indie station Radio K among many others. Finick will be in Buffalo in support of her new single, “Selfish” which came out in October. Fans of Beach Bunny, Clairo, or Mitski should plan on heading down to Delaware Ave. before hitting Chippewa.  ‘

Joining the bill will be Buffalo DIY scene folk-artist Adelaide. Bring all your returning high school friends. $15 cover.

Ian McCuen (Release Show) @ Mohawk Place

Introspective singer/songwriter Ian McCuen has been on the scene for a minute, playing sad/pretty songs at all the local joint throughout Buffalo. This Friday, the delicate songsmith will be celebrating the release of their new album As the Oceans Rise and the Empire Falls. Usually a solo act, McCuen will be accompanied by a full band for the first time so it will be exciting to see the usually stripped down tracks have a full sound. Fans of pre-voice play Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens, or Iron & Wine would be into this one.

Joining the bill will be Romcom Victims (whose new EP Rainy Days is on repeat at the office), multi-instrumentalist SPUD, and folk punk duo Sally Schaefer & Tyler Bagwell. $10.

BabyTron @ Electric City

Versatile oddball rapper BabyTron will be playing post-Bills game this Sunday. Since emerging on the internet in 2019, the Ypsilanti, Michigan native has been known for his ability to flow over anything and everything, consistently delivering one-liners with clever wordplay, Gen Z internet jargon, and an unpredictable cadence. BabyTron has such a buzz about him, that fellow Michigan hip-hop heavyweight Eminem invited him to collaborate on his single “Tobey,” which launched the rapper into another level of stardom. If you’re into Cordae, Danny Brown, Lil Yachty or just a general fan of the Detroit rap scene, this one’s for you.

Touring in support of his newest album Tronicles, Tron will be joined by fellow buzz rappers Trapland Pat, NASSAN . and BLP Kosher (who is co-headlining). $40.65.
