Shady Cove – “Passenger”
Portland based indie band Shady Cove, made up of Sarah Rose, Sarah Nienaber, and recent addition at drums Devon Shirley. “Passenger” is their latest track and damn it gave me a hankerin’ for the PNW. Soothing as fuck, I definitely felt myself floating away with the chill picked chords and various other sounds the band sneaks in. Who I can only assume to be Sarah sings in the most soothing voice I’ve ever heard in my life and I want them to write the soundtrack to my life (mediocre movie but with a bangin’ soundtrack). Fans of the Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker sad girl aesthetic would find a lot to enjoy here, between the genuine vocals and tightly produced music.
You can hear passenger below from the band’s YouTube. Looking to add a finishing touch to your sad girl indie playlist? They’re also over on Spotify. Be on the lookout for the follow-up/continuation of their 2022 self-titled album too, if you’re digging the vibes (and how can’t you?)
