Akron, OH is lucky to have aspiring genrebender ASJ 3. Although he plays with rap, rock, and lots of other styles, “Sunken Place” (which features a verse from smooth crooner/guitarist Iverson Lewis) falls into more of a dream-pop spectrum. With plenty of vocal hooks, a driven backbeat, and dripping with emotion, “Sunken Place” finds ASJ 3 exorcizing his demons and crawling out of his proverbial lows by making this excellent tune. Song high point – the irresistible refrain of “Because you take me to a place where you know I don’t wanna go.”
